Role of online communities in development

Youth and Development forum currently discusses:
How
online communities can help in achieving the development goals like
Millenium Development Goals?

Online communities are very interactive
websites integrating various information and communication tools such as
mailing lists or groups, bulletin board systems, webblogs, chat, instant
messaging system etc. Such tools facilitate easily to communicate with each
others among its members thus knowledge sharing on the issues
concerned.

The question thus is how most effectively such online
communities can help in achieving the development goals like Millenium
Development Goals or EFA goals? Or can they be effective at all in boosting
the development effort? What are the lessons learnt from various online
commuity projects (like TakingITGlobal) undertaken so far? What is the
future? And how young people are involved in this area?

On the
technical side,we would like to explore the issues invloving the technical
aspects of building a online commuity. What are the tools required for
building an online community? How much does it costs? What are the free and
open source tools available in public domain for building online commuity?

International Year of Rice

This is from FAO."Almost 3,000 million people share the culture, traditions, and untapped potentials of rice...
So, rice is a food - but more than a food. It is society, culture, politics, business, the beauty of the landscape, people in their communities. In short, rice is life."

Jagjit Singh

Jagjit's strength lies in his sombre sublimeness.he uses soft music and throws out the various nuances of soiree from a deep voice.when it comes al together, the effect simply becomes mesmerising for the audience, living only a clear space to roam.
Speak.

For last few days,so many spams are coming in my mailboxes.this is really horrible.and no longer i am takking any risks of opensing any attchment, for those containing no text in body.those messages which are giving hi as subject lines and coming mostly from unrecognisable and god-only-know domain names accounts are strictly no no for me,i am straight awaya deleting those messages.
